2 Months Into Valtrex Treatment

I was prescribed Valtrex under 2 months ago after convincing my doctor that my high EBV titers are the cause for my ongoing flu-like symptoms. Currently, I'm dosed at 2,000, or 1g at 2x per day, and I'm having a significant relief of symptoms/pain. I realize that some people, on this forum at least, are prescribed doses at around 4,000g per day. Does anyone have any experience with a low level dosing such as mine (2,000g per day)? Here's some background: I'm in my 20's and weigh 170lbs. If needed, I will try to persuade my doctor to increase my dose by at least another 1,000g per day. Any input would be great :)
